Are You Having Trouble Getting Pregnant?

Its easy to find information about what to do when you are pregnant but what if you are having trouble getting pregnant?  There are several steps you can take which will help to get you on the fast track to a successful pregnancy.

The first thing you should do is to visit your doctor.  If you are having trouble getting pregnant, its best to be sure that you do not have a medical ailment which may be affecting your fertility.  If your doctor gives you a clean bill of health then you can continue.

If you want to know how to get pregnant fast, its all about ovulation.  Ovulation is when your body releases an egg every month to be fertilized so you want to make sure you are prepared.  Some women know their body well enough to know when they are ovulating by paying attention to signs like cramping or clear and slippery vaginal discharge.  If you have trouble pinpointing your ovulation, you can get an over the counter ovulation prediction kit at your local drugstore.

Once you know when your ovulation is happening, you might think that you should just have as much sex as possible right around your ovulation time but this is not entirely true.  Sperm Can live in the woman’s body for about 5 days so it is a good idea to start havign sex 5 days before you expect ovulation to occur.  This will ensure that there is plenty of sperm ready to fertilize the egg once it is released.  It is also a good idea for the woman to lie in bed for five to ten minutes after intercourse so that the sperm can make it where they need to go.

It is also important to note the its best to limit sex to once per day before ovulation.  Having sex too frequently in a 24 hour period can reduce the man’s sperm count.  He should have 24 hours or so to recover and rebuild his sperm before having sex again.

When it comes time to test, you should start with an over the counter  test which you can get from your local drug store.  Although it is possible to get a false positive or a false negative from an over the counter pregnancy test, they are generally more than98% accurate.  What can cause a false negative pregnancy test?  Timing is everything.  If you take the test too early it could cause a false negative.  You should follow the directions on the test very carefully but usually it is safe to take it once you have missed your period.

If you take this information into account when you are trying to get pregnant it should make it a lot easier to accomplish.  It is important that you don’t get frustrated if you don’t succeed in your first month.  Just keep following these steps and before you know it, it will happen for you.  Just relax and enjoy this magical time in your life.
