Themed Bedding For Babies and Toddlers

When you look at themed bedding aimed at children, you can see that there are different kinds of bedding aimed at different age groups. Whether you have a baby about to arrive and need to prepare a nursery or you have a toddler about to move from a crib into a toddler bed, there are plenty of bedding choices available for each stage.
Before a child is even born, parents excitedly prepare the nursery for their child. One of the most important things to do to complete that nursery is to dress up the crib. Before we even know it, we are exposed to thematic childrens influences and an infant’s bedding is no different. If you go into a specialty store geared specially for infants and kids, you will see a huge wall of bedding selections. Infants’ bedding typically comes in either pastel or primary colors. If you know the gender of your baby in advance you can even make you selection along gender lines. For boys, you will find things like animals, sports themes, teddy bears, dogs and other culturally defined masculine designs. For girls, they stock dolls, flowers, butterflies, cats and other feminine themed designs.
As you begin to search for toddler bedding, the gender lines are a little obscured since children as young as three years old are not too concerned with gender-specificity, rather they just want their favorite items depicted on their comforter. This is the age and stage when pop culture also begins to influence children, so it is a good idea to be prepared by knowing what other kids are into. Usually it is based on a favorite television show or character. Boys and girls tend to watch the same shows at this age such as Spongebob or Barney opening the way for dinosaur bedding featuring their favorite purple friend or a Spongebob bedding collection.
If you prefer not to buy bedding with a theme from TV like that you can look for more neutral items which feature toys, vehicles or elements of nature such as sun, trees and rainbows or just a brightly colored design you think would appeal to your child.
